Your not as big as you may think you are (when your having a fat day)

Ever woke up feeling slimmer and energetic and slowly as the morning rush starts and it’s time to get ready nothing looks right and you feel like you have put weight on out of thin air?

It’s a dirty lie, I know how you feel!

From when I wake up, I’m honestly flat out most of the day, I wake up feeling good about myself majority of the time and with a morning flat tummy, my weight doesn’t seem to bother me ‘I’m happy’ that’s before I have my morning coffee or eat my breakfast. I scurry about after my kids busy getting out the door and organised for the day and it hit’s me some day’s like a bad mood or a wave of toxic energy… I felt fat, my clothes didn’t fit right (we all have days like this) in some sense like all of a sudden my weight had fluctuated in an hour and I was bigger than I felt when I woke earlier???

Why!!!

I am not a fan of feeling this way noone is, it’s negative and consumes us lady’s. I have experienced this on and off during my teens and adult life (like I gained kilos in a short space in time). My diet is pretty balanced and I do work out and drink loads of water and normally I’m confident mostly with my weight and body, but today I just felt big (a fat day) and my mind set wasn’t changing and my wardrobe copped it (clothes everywhere literally).

Do you feel like this sometimes, all the time, everyday?

Well let’s discuss this unspoken nemesis that effects ‘us all’ that feeling of feeling fatter (bigger) and why it’s not what you may think.

“Ugh, I look so fat in this picture,” said every woman ever, at some point or another.

No matter our actual size, pretty much every woman has experienced body image issues at times in our life. For some reason we’re convinced we could always be prettier, thinner, and overall better looking. Not only is that thought process draining and a complete waste of our precious energy, but it’s just not true.

Even if you improved one area of your body you felt was inadequate or problematic, you’d find another thing about yourself to pick on anyway. So instead of thinking about how your thighs touch or if your bums to big, here are some amazing real reasons why you’re not as big as you think you are.

YOUR WEIGHT HASN’T ACTUALLY CHANGED.

Weigh yourself. I know I’ve had severe moments of fat panic, only to see that I was exactly the same size once I got on the scale or that I gained a small minor line or two on the scale unlike the 5 kilos I felt I gained. Even though it’s scary, the scale can bring salvation.

IT PROBABLY IS JUST WATER WEIGHT.

This one may not always be true, but is often the culprit for your heavier moments. You can honestly gain up to 2kgs around your period, that you lose when your monthly friend vacates the premises. It’s worse for some, but it happens to every girl. So put on those stretch pants for a day and know you still look great.

DRESSING ROOMS HAVE THE LIGHTING FROM HELL.

There are rooms apparently designed to make everyone look terrible, ie dressing rooms. Any place with overhead fluorescents will make you look bigger and your completion horrid, it’s a real confusing thing to do to people or potential customers fat scaring them out of the dress room (we have all had this experience at one point in our lives)

YOU COULD BE WEARING THE WRONG CLOTHES FOR YOUR BODY TYPE.

How clothes fit makes a huge difference in how you look. We all have different body shapes and sizes if your pear shaped, athletic, short, tall or petite. You can source and find information on clothes that suit and compliment your figure!

YOU NEED TO STOP COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS.

Most of the time, our low self-esteem comes from comparing ourselves to others. We don’t do this with only models and celebs, but friends and even strangers. Why? It doesn’t matter what anyone else looks like because they’re not you and I guarantee those girls are worried about how they compare to everyone else, too.

NO ONE IS PERFECT, NO ONE.

Although this is obvious, it’s something I always forget, but it’s true. Nobody always looks as good as their best Instagram picture or Facebook selfie shares. That doesn’t mean we’re not still uniquely gorgoeus!

NOBODY NOTICES OR CARES.

Sure, if you gained or lost a bunch of weight in a short period of time, people would notice. But how often have you thought to yourself, “Hey, I think her clothes are slightly tighter than normal. Not enough to go up a size, but they’re certainly a less comfortable fit!” Probably never, because you don’t care. No one cares about the tiny things we obsess about. No one cares, in the best possible way.

ANYONE WHO DOES NOTICE OR CARE IS JUST A BENEATH YOU

You might think to yourself, “People do notice look at all rude comments and tweets about celebrity bodies.” There will always be jokers online that live to say mean things. Hey, they may say a mean thing about you. But it doesn’t matter because they’re hiding behind a phone or computer, and their opinions are rendered invalid.

YOU’LL LOOK BACK YEARS FROM NOW AND WONDER WHY YOU WERE SO HARD ON YOURSELF.

Look back at your old photos – photos more than three or four years old. You always look thin and really beautiful, too (and not nearly as fat or ugly as you felt at the time the picture was taken). Try to see your current pictures with “five years in the future” eyes, because you’ll definitely look back on your worst pic from today and think, “Oh God, look how cute I was.”

BECAUSE YOU’RE NOT ACTUALLY FAT.

This is the real truth. You aren’t as fat as you think you are because you’re not fat. Obsessing about it doesn’t change your weight and your weight probably doesn’t need to be changed. More importantly, you don’t need to be your ideal perfect weight to feel good about yourself, as long as you’re healthy, it’s all good. So feel good about yourself and that happiness will make you more beautiful than that once off bad day ever could.

Have you had a where did that extra weight come from kind of day, Don’t feel shy share your story!!!
